"We are a welcoming family of faith celebrating Christ's presence."

We worship God with Joy:
We are a welcoming family of faith. People who visit us report their experience as one of warmth
and hospitality.
Every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. we worship God in our early-bird service. The Good News of Christ is
proclaimed in a casual, relaxed atmosphere with guitar accompaniment for a variety of songs and
hymns.
Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. we worship God in our traditional service. God's good news is shared
with all ages. After a time for young disciples children may go to a classroom for activities that will
reinforce the scripture shared in worship, or they may stay in the sanctuary with their parents for
the remainder of the service. We love to hear the sounds of infants and children during worship.
Visitors are warmly welcomed here. We have a gift package for first time visitors to introduce you to
our family of faith. We are always blessed by new faces and new perspectives.
Four times a year, following worship, we offer a luncheon opportunity to acquaint visitors with our
church. It is a time when we explain our beliefs, our government and history, and our mission and
ministries with anyone who may want to know more about us and for visitors to ask questions. If
you would like to attend one of these luncheons, please call or e-mail the church office
(812-663-2197) to learn the dates of the next class. Please contact one of our co-pastors if you want
to learn more about our church.
We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church USA. For more information about our denomination click here: www.pcusa.org

About Us
First Presbyterian Church
Greensburg Indiana
How we order our life together:
Presbyterian Churches are governed by the people. Our session is the governing board of the local
congregation. Session members, called elders (from the Greek word Presbuteros which means elder)
are elected and ordained by the congregation to serve as the leaders of the church for terms of three
years. From the time of John Calvin (who first established this way of ordering church life in the
early 15th century) Reformed Christians have emphasized the principle that persons other than
ministers are to serve as church officers.

We nurture the life of each individual:
At 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, between our two worship services, we offer opportunities for disciples of
all ages to be nurtured in their faith:
 | | preschool through 5th Grades using a curriculum based on the texts used in worship
|
 | | 6th through 12th grades using our denominational materials and others
|
 | | adult Bible study
|
 | | adult discussion on current issues of interest to the group
|
Each Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:30 pm our youth gather for dinner, fun and games, spiritual | | formation, music and prayers.
During the week we offer Spiritual Formation groups at three different times. If you wish to join a spiritual formation group or visit with our pastors about spiritual formation, please let us know.
Beginning in March we will nurture one another on some Wednesday nights from 5:15-7:30 p.m. As families we will share a meal, enjoy social time, lead the children in music, crafts and drama and learn about the Bible. For more information call the church office.
